I happen to see this today. I don't see many people jumping any kind of ship to get into this, other than the jeepers them selves. oh, you might be able to put that tire in the very small bed. And the original sticker price is $30k, roughly $20k+ in add-ons.

I will admit that I was looking for this to come out........ till now. as far as i'm concerned, this doesn't hit on crap. back to looking for another Rover.

Oh yeah, that is the conversion going around right now. Take a 4 door, add some parts to it, make it a truck!

Would be cool if these trucks weren't eating engines and transmissions before 100k. That is if they don't catch fire and burn to the ground first. Oh and apparently the rest of the truck isn't that well built either. LOTS of complaints about reliability.

Still looks cool, though.

This description could equally apply to any Rover. Except the Freelander, which is unreliable and does not look cool.

Na. Land rovers only catch fire after 10 years. These JKs are catching fire within 30k

Depression of cyl. head gasket < depression of burning to the ground

Also I need to check on the price of the conversion. There is a video of 3 or 4 MOPAR guys doing the conversion at EJS last year in the parking lot. All hand tools. Can't be THAT difficult to do!

I have owned an awful lo of Rovers and not a one of them as caught fire.

I have however, rewired one that had caught fire during an ill-advised stereo install and had a burned up parts truck, but none of mine have caught fire.

OTOH, a coupla my Chevrolets did...

I as at a shop yesterday where a bunch of Jeep guys were bragging about DESTROYING their wive's new Jeeps. I did not understand, drank ONE beer and left quickly.

We used to have an 08' Sahara... Key word is "used" ugh what a turd. When we bought it new the dealer said it had a "time-proven" engine from Chrysler minivans...

Wife wanted a Jeep. Wife sold a Jeep.

For those who don't know, The 07-11 jeeps had the same motor that mopar but in their mini vans, and they were junk, not meant to pull bigger gears or tires ect, the new ones starting in 2012 are much different with no problems as of yet. Why they ever stopped using the bullet proof 4.0 engine is beyond me, most of those motors will see upwards in the 250K range, and you are a fool if you think that any rover motor would make that without a few head gaskets or total rebuilds. I love my 110, but I also love All my TJ's (97-06)

Looks to me like a bunch of vehicles built to give 14-year old boys a boner.
My 14-year-old daughter wants a red 4-door wrangler. Red is not the most important part, but it's up there.
Because, as she likes to say, "silly boy, jeeps are for girls".
The boys in our family have rovers, my wife has a jeep.
Perhaps she should say, "silly boy, expensive unreliable vehicles are for boys, shit that just works is for girls".
Of course my son likes to quote part of a bumper sticker we saw: "You jeep bitches wouldn't understand".
