New radiator and Thermostat

I just replaced the head gaskets, risers, oil pump, water pump, lifters and and anything else that was not looking good, as I have a 2003 Disco 2 (176K). I also installed a new radiator and thermostat.
The only problem I am having is that after running about 15 minutes it starts to over heat. The top hoses start to pressurize a-lot. I started out bleeding it several times as there was air in the system as expected, but now I have no leaks and I have just over 2 gallons of coolant in it and its over heating, have you ran in to this before? could it be the new thermostat that is getting stuck in the closed position?

When I did this recently with a new radiator I really had to jack the front end up to get the air out....more than I would have thought.

Maybe you've already done this...(With the engine cool!), remove the bleeder plug on the coolant hose "tee" just behind the top of the radiator. That's the high point of the cooling system on the vehicle. Use a small funnel and fill the system there. I think you may need to remove the pressure cap on the reservoir to let the coolant move freely.

Also open the bleeder plug on the tee, unclip the expansion tank from its mounts, lift the tank up a few inches and fill until coolant comes out the bleeder.

malonso123 - Any updates on trying these fixes? I'm about to do a lot of the same repairs and installs on my '03 DII and would love to hear if you've gotten rid of the overheating. Thanks.
