This.
The beauty of it that it comes without any sort of manual or instructions. I think it's fair - if one needs instructions, one doesn't need this shiznit.
Now if I'm not too lazy, I'll be able to figure out what broke in my MIDI keyboard.

Thanks to the new scope, I learned that my keyboard was just fine, and the sound generator needed a hardware reset.
Score one for the toy!

I love my DSO oscilloscope. I have the Nano. It cost less than $100 and comes with all sorts of accessories.

I used mine to figure out how the Diamond K9000 antenna mount works. (turns out, it works just like the DC motor that it is: it uses an H-bridge to switch the polarity of the 12V power.)

The coolest thing about the DSO? The firmware is open source. Looking for a new feature? Add it yourself!

Nice screwdriver!

DSO belongs in the same family as DS203. Once you get a grip on how to use these very few controls this thing has, you really get going! I was about to read and decypher the MIDI signal, bit by bit, when I figured out that keyboard was all right.

Very cool. Is there a video output to display traces on a computer screen or video projector? Any chance this has a built-in FFT algorithm to serve as a cheap spectrum analyzer?

Hell yeah you guys are. I was in EE my first two years of college and I have no desire to ever touch an o-scope again.

No FFT, no spectrum analyzer. You can save the waveform in either a text form or screenshot as BMP file.
Kevin - I wanted a handheld scope ever since I left Scripps 9 years ago.
