I know, I know... we now own two British automobiles. Let the shitstorm begin.

Nothing wrong with that. I've got a Land Rover and a Jaguar. Having two British vehicles means having two vehicles that always work.

They won't always work well, mind you, but they always work.:D

Cheers,

Cool.
A "chick" car.

This is for the wife, right?

And I dont think there's much *Brit* in the newer Minis, is there?

Chick car? Well I guess it'll look nice parked next to my soccer-mom car then. I'm comfortable enough with my masculinity to drive ANY car...

Kenneth, your summation of British cars agrees with my experience. The most reliable car in the world is... the most unreliable car in the world!

I put about 50k miles on the Subie over 6 years or so (two of which it was parked and moved occasionally). A D-Web sticker isn't a bad idea... :)

German engine, Japanese transmission, built in Oxford, England. Funny thing is, BMW owns Mini, and they owned Rover when my Disco was built. So if I own a Beemer, I guess I own two. :p

Any recommendations on a good catch can? Should I just build one? As for oil burning issues, how would I stay on top of that? Is there an oil you'd recommend?

Thanks for the tips and advice fellas, always much appreciated. I do really love this car, which was never true for the Subaru. I did have fun with it though, and my son was sad to see it go (even though he was unbelievably excited about the mini), so I got a bit nostalgic and silly at 1AM last night, so for your enjoyment...

Farewell, Falcor, the silver-dragon Subaru...
Mighty wheels carried myself and brood,

O'er dusty roads and windswept plain,
Cross deserts, mountains, and back again.

I gave you oil – the highest grade,
But oh, my dear, the mess you made.

Rusty rotors, bad electrics,
stumbling motor, poor fuel metrics.

The fluids leaked, the insides creaked,
The gear-oil burned, and my heart yearned...

For turbo-chargers, racing stripes,
A brand new chance, a slate that's wiped.

You see, my Rover takes me everywhere,
To places that you'd never dare.
(you were redundant, then and there)

Though you helped us have some fun,
My heart, the prize, could not be won.

I've found a car that makes me flutter,
That zips and zags and doesn't sputter.

The Mini S, it spoke my name,
In Racing Green, it lit a flame.

Although I found a love for me,
This will not be the end for thee.
(A new home! A new family!)

I admit it's true, I never loved you - we're through.
Farewell... Good luck. Adieu.

The mini looks like a fun little car but damn, that stupid giant ass speedometer on the center stack and all the quirky little controls just plain ruin it.

The only thing about that I find bothersome is the simple fact that everyone in the car will know just how fast I'm going. :D
