I hadn't looked at the pictures until just now. That is too nice to part out! It's really a shame that the Rover engines are so pricey here in the states. The guys on the British forums talk about them like they are small block chev motors over there. $4500!!!! for a short block:banghead: ..... I'd keep my eyes peeled for an engine from a wreck or that sort of thing. Or even a junked disco with an engine you could refresh and then part out the rest of donor rover.

I'm with gunny, save your shekels and get an engine. If it's as clean as the pictures indicate it would be a shame to part it out.

If I lived closer, I'd buy that thing and yank the 4.0 out of my Range Rover and put my 3.5 back in the Range Rover.

Have you called Will Tillery to see what he has? He might have a bottom end that's at least good enough to be refreshed and run. I don't recommend going into debt for an engine, but British Pacific has 4.6 short blocks for distributor engines for $4500...

Put a cover on it, save some money and replace the engine.

Nice looking 94. Dont see too many that year that look that good. Keep it or sell it to someone who will take care of it.

The color is a bit on the gay side, but i guess that ok now.....

I'd take gay over rusty any day.
I agree, if it's not rotted out, I'd replace the engine. Assuming you have the work space, buy someone's low-mileage wreck or rust bucket, do the swap, and part out the rest of the donor truck to recover some expenses.

I can live with the gay color and was thinking of getting a disco to leave stock and DD. I also happen to have a spare engine laying around to lol.

Yeah it obviously wasnt my first color choice but the condition/1-owner history with the low miles sold me. That backfired haha.

Back off buddy!:D

I've put two DII purchases on hold waiting to see if this truck comes to live with me.

It was like driving a time machine when it was up here.

Just to close the loop I have decided to let it go - I have a fractured disc thats (very) slowly repairing so right now I just cant part it or fix it myself. Ive got ~4k invested and maybe drove it 500 miles LOL...

If PT passes on it Ill list it up for sale as it sits.

Heres to a better 2011! Have a great new year everyone. :)

Sam:

Sorry to hear the bad news!

If you really need awd, give a 993 C4 a try. Much more reliable than the LR!

cheers,

Paul.

I don't know PT,.... might sound like a premeditated mechanical failure......:D just how bad did you want this truck?
