Hi there,
for all Disco owners who are unlucky enough to live at the other side of the pond (aka Europe) we are faced each day with coolant-antifreeze cans in which nothing as IAT, OAT or HOAT is written on.
I have downloaded Chris St Louis' excellent coolant chart but... nearly all but Texaco XLC are not available in Europe, or when available, under other name or version.
Besides, the only specifications which appear on the can is (copied from Texaco XLC -Aka Extended life coolant- Havoline pre mixed 50%), which reads:
"Technology approved by Caterpillar, Ford, Volkswagen (G12), Volvo, General Motors (GM6277M) MB325.3, Renault (Type D), DAF 74002, Scania, Man 248/324 SNF.
WTF is that?
Is dex-cool or OAT the same as VW G12 or GM 6277M?
I order to find other alternatives than going to the stealer
Besides, it seems that LR has begun to shift from Texaco to Castrol SF, at least in Europe. And guess what? Castrol SF does not even appear in their website (only Castrol NF, and nothing said about its OAT nature...)
I would be very grateful if any of you could confirm OAT specifications in order to simplify coolant top up and renewal.
LR ownership and maintenance, always so secret...
Best regards and thank you
Robert
