I have a friend that drove a Thing for decades, it would go where many 4x4s would not, truly amazing.

so you respect the javelin but can't see the beauty in a gremlin x or pacer x? With the right mods they are wheelie machines

Lately I've been fascinated by the Austin Gipsy. Looks like its hard to find one thats not completely rusted away.
x2...saw one on Craigslist a couple years back but couldn't muster up the courage to deal with it.

Add Saab 96, and a nice clean Volvo Amazon....

As a kid I built a slant six in a Duster that was a V8 eater. I had found an interesting article in my school's library of periodicals called "Walk softly and carry a big Six". It was based around the old Dodge 225 hyper pack engine from the early sixties. I just went on YouTube and found tons of these copies running races. I'm glad they are still around. Here is a good link to the hyper packs:

I think I just need to quit watching Top Gear

X2 I saw the episode you are talking about and it was pretty cool. I like the Lamborghini LM002. Kind of an odd, but cool looking and gotta love the HP!

the La Moo 2 was cool, if not quirky. There's a guy here in town with an old Lamborghini tractor. No one believes Lamborghini really made it! He used to show up at the Saguaro Ranch old time tractor show, but I haven't been there in years.

When I was younger I had a thing for a subaru SVX and datsun 510s, but the older landrover side of me would like to build a coil sprung lightweight with a 4.2.

That's cool! I new that Lamborghini had made tractors. Myself prefer JD's. I've restored a few for people down here.

Wierd, I just saw a SVX on the road today. First one I've seen in 5-6 years.

I wanted to buy one when Budget RAC of AZ bought two purple ones from Budget Hawaii back when I worked there. I asked the controller about buying one, but they wanted more than I could afford (and much more than they paid).

Porsche made them too. I never saw one in person but have seen photos of a restored one when I worked for a dealer many,. many years ago....
