Apparently I need a hobby because I can't find anything else stupid to worry myself with other than trying to locate someone who makes laptop skins for massive freaking laptops. I traded my beloved 15" with my father-in-law who soon realized he made a huge, pardon the pun, mistake getting an 18" Toshiba that is too heavy and bulky to be portable. Now I've got this very large hunk of boring piano black plastic with a grande sized "Toshiba" logo splashed across the face that shows every fingerprint, greasy booger slime, and sneeze goo spray, and I want to at least customize it. But I can't find anyone that makes skins this big. Blah blah something about resolution sizes blah blah.

Does anyone know where to get a skin for this friggin useless, too big to even fit on a lap, laptop? I usually get skins from DecalGirl but no luck there either and a web search isn't getting me anywhere. You peeps seem to always have the "in" on everything else considered useless so I am leaving my laptop skin in your hands.

I don't know what their laptop protection includes, but the Invisible Shield I put on that iPod really is the cat's ass. They do list laptop applications, though, and it's not just for the lid, apparently.

Things don't really stick to it or leave marks.

Cheers,

Kennith,

An aside... Invisible Shield is very, VERY good, but I prefer Skinomi - it won't yellow in time (it has a built-in UV coating), and is just as tough.

I did find a few 18" skins on Amazon and boy were they ugly. I guess not a whole lot of options. :(

Rick, that is a fantastic idea!!! I totally forgot about ole Vigg. I'll shoot him a message right now. Tell Mrs. Ness hello!

LOL Except it's my cat that would be the one playing that trick on the dogs. They fall for anything involving fud.

if they don't have a skin you like, you can upload a photo and make a custom one. you can also get custom sizes if their standard sizes don't fit. the custom creation page is a little quirky to work with though. i got a custom skin from them for my netbook. good customer service too.

Fantastic!!!! Finally one that allows larger sized custom skins. Thank you for forwarding that link Mantaray. I'll play with it tonight and see how it turns out. :victory:

I owe you a drink Rick! Vigg was able to come through and work with the resolution image I sent. The Gelaskin site was cool, too but I just couldn't get it to look right and Vigg came through in style and at a great price.

Can't wait to get it!
