At your mom's
I know, I know blah blah blah - I'm posting so no one else goes through this.
About 4 years ago the oil pressure light began to flicker so I cleaned out the sump and screen. Against ALL advice I used a cork gasket supplied by one of the larger Rover specialty parts suppliers.

This weekend I had to do it all over again, and guess what had the screen clogged up THIS time?

?

That's right boys and girls, LITTLE PIECES OF CORK!!! The 'effing thing disintegrated and filled the pan.

Don't use a cork gasket on the oil pan unless you really love dropping the pan and want to do it again soon. This time I used Right Stuff. Pricey, but highly recommended. I assume it won't fall apart and clog up the works.... and it stopped leaking for the time being.

FWIW I did replace the TREs and do an alignment. It drives much nicer now.

Yep.
Right Stuff.
In fact, Will Tillery told me that Right Stuff is so good...once it sets, you can remove the oil pan bolts and use them for some other project.;)

well, i never used it as a gasket, but it has worked wonders on securing stuff. The ballasts for the HIDs on my brother's car are NEVER coming off, ever.
