Not sure....Garrett likes his fancy stuff but it can't be the same fancy stuff that John Lee likes. For instance, I think Garrett hates Snow Peak. It's all very hard to follow when you're just a simple guy like me.
If I want something and Expedition Exchange sells it at going rate, I definitely give John Lee my money. Awesome guy, always has been.

There's the way people act on the 'net and the way they act in person. Given the way he conducted himself here towards others I was always surprised no one ever showed up at his place of business looking to beat his ass. If I'm not mistaken some threatened too, just never carried through with it. I may be wrong, but as I remember it he disappeared and people alluded to the fact his business partner put a muzzle on him because of the whole insulting LR owners while owning a LR aftermarket parts shop.

John Lee will be the same in person as he is on the internet. LOL...that's gonna be a fact. He is a proud Land Rover owner but he doesn't pull his punches when it comes to the new Land Rover trucks.

Agreed. Have had the pleasure of meeting him at EE shop over the years and he has personally helped me resolve some product issues as well.

I got one for you guys.... Gwagonbabe. Reading between the lines I got the impression she showed up at someones campsite at an event drunk as hell and something more than discussing the events of the day may have went on.

Edit: didn't see the guy above's post but it just proves inquiring minds want to know.

The vibe I'm getting here is that, if he knew you, and liked you, he was a good dude who would go out of his way to help you. If he didn't know you, and you rubbed him the wrong way, he'd say things to you one human shouldn't say to another. I guess the internet does have that affect on people.

She camped with us at Uwharrie one year, brought her little brother and left him while she went to prom or something.

Those guys split after it got all political and a whole thread got pulled down. I didn’t see what happened but that’s a pretty extreme reaction for this place.
But I was new around here and Dan started in on me. I was hooked after that. I never interacted with someone so wrong and so in your face and shitty about it. I said oh shit anything goes?
I am pretty sure the height of political BS was me and MarkP.

His banter was always well written. That Law degree if I remember correctly probably helped him in that respect. As the cliche goes - if you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

In my line of work I've had to deal with a lot of extremely wealthy, very successful businessman. I don't know any of them that would agree getting on a form full of your potential customers, and insinuating that no small amount of them are knuckle dragging, dimwitted, Neanderthals is a recipe for success. Or an indication of a high degree of intelligence.
