I actually went with none of the above. I got Bearmach 2"s, I like them because they are softer, and after about 4 years they haven't sagged but about 1/2". I dig OME springs also, just because of the different selections and they seem to last pretty long. Rovertym has also put a lot of time into developing these springs, so they know their shit. As far as the info on EE website, you can ask just about any person who has owned a coiler LR and they can tell you the same thing, it isn't like it is a big secret or anything. I am sure you could search this BB or any LR BB for this info.

I never went to EE's site with the intent not to buy.
You people crack me up. It is a sales tool to have information on your web site. Do you know what else is a sales tool? Lower, more competitive prices! Duh!
If it's on the internet it is free information, bottom line.
So I have to buy from EE just because I've looked at thier site? It's my moral responsibility to do so?
Once again, If they don't want people to look at it let's do an Intent to purchase contract before we access their site. Would that make you feel better?
Don't worry, as stated twice before, I will not use thier informative, helpful, well put together web site anymore so as not to offend strangers on the internet that think I need to buy from the first person that pops up on Google when I am searching for parts.
Now I think I'm gonna go search for that new Paris Hilton video I've been hearing about. ;)

Why don't you speak with the only people who know what the mark up is - John and Ho. Service is great.

I can afford the extra 150 without even thinking about it and it sure wouldn't bust the bank by any means. Call that place for advice on yor truck. Ask their opinion on recovery equipment. Will they refer you to another business of comaparable quality if they don't have what you're looking for? Have they comped you anything for your patronage? do they recognize you when you call? Can you shoot the shit with them ... .... ....

I have already made up most price differences a long time ago...

LOL-

Walt and D-I can't speak for EE but I sincerely doubt if John or Ho care if you buy from them or not. While I'm sure they enjoy making a sale, I doubt if they are interested in competing for the Walt/D market out there.

There is something else to remember and that is that John and Ho actively support my local Land Rover club and also this website. They put their time and money back into the market that they serve. If I buy from them, I feel very sure that if something is wrong with my purchase they will do whatever it takes to make it right and not just tell me to talk to the manufacturer.

EE actually stocks many of the items in their store rather than have them drop-shipped from the manufacturer. This costs them more due to having inventory costs that others don't. At the same time, you can pick up that item directly or rest assured that John or Ho know what was sent because they packed it.

I actually felt bad that at one time I had to buy an Engel from someone else because John was out of stock and couldn't get it when I needed it for a trip. John was the one that actually sold me that Engel even though someone else collected the $. However, John didn't give me crap about it and I believe felt bad as well that he didn't have it. I actually ended up paying more buying elsewhere but that's not the point.

Can you say the same about the vendors that only care about sales and volume? Do they wheel with you (or at least with others of like mind here on Dweb) and actually spend their time and money on your leisure pursuit? I doubt it but maybe that doesn't mean anything to you.

My 2 cents-

i would go with a rte spring and ome shock. USE EE SITE TO GET INFORMATION on how to get ome shocks on w/ 3". i wouldn't go with the ome spring set-up just because down the road when you decide to go bigger it will be alot easier with 3" springs than with the spacers in the rear.
if you decide to go this route then EE shock relocation mounts would work best. so then nobody can talk shit to you for using FREE information to help better your own personal knowledge.

and the people over on the west coast can't really get mad because people on the east coast use EE info and then shop around. you aint got to pay the shipping

Who have I named that only cares about volume and sales? I really do appreciate what John and Ho do for this site and the time and effort they spend here.
Does that mean I have to hang my head in shame for looking at thier site or suggesting that someone shop around?
Do I just agree with Koby because he's one of thier buds and I'm just a dumbass?

And to answer your question above, yes, yes they do. EE is not the only enthusiast vender out there so all you guys need to get off that kick. Sure EE won't miss me as a customer just as I wont miss them as a vendor, my objection is for all the people that take offense for whatever reason at me looking at information on the public domain. If it doesn't bother them why does it bother you? Did you need a cause this week? Jeez, save the whales or something.
I'm glad you guys can afford EE and other high priced enthusiast vendors. I'll continue to shop around and meet other enthusiast vendors that may save me some money. I just might make a friend or two! :)

Yes, Greg. I know for a fact John and Ho don't care if I buy from them or not. If that was the case, John or Ho would reply to my e-mails or warranty my defective crap I got from them. But, I guess there service is so good, they don't need to do this.
