One of those days where I don't feel so smart.

If it makes you feel any better, I once had a wrench slip off a very stubborn bolt while laying on my back under the wife's Toyota. I ended up punching myself in the face hard enough to cut (and blacken) my eye...

pulling the gearshift knob off on a d2 can lead to the same sort of surprise too...

X2! This is a "shit your pants" or "smash out your teeth" kinda job.

Look on the bright side, I bet you'll never do it again.

When I was a kid helping my dad pull staples out of a car seat I was using channelocks, pulling straight up (instead of levering them out), staple came out and I poked myself hard in the eye with the end of the handles. Never did that again.
You usually remember the lessons that hit you in the face. ;)

Worse mechanics nightmare. Impact gun with swivel attached as socket flies off and takes out teeth. Things to not do. I have not but do know a few who have.

Thoughtlessly removed a bolt from a control arm on my 535i. Control arm swung down & punched me in the temple. Room went black. Head hurt for a couple of days.
