So before this recent generation people didn't have in-house sexual partners and steady incomes?

Of course they did - and they still dressed up. Try again....

Yes, and somewhere around my generation, people realized that once you have "succeeded" in adulthood as such, you dont have to go around trying to impress everyone else with your attire.

Only with your houses, decor, vehicles, vacations, etc, etc, etc, right?

And no, not "people" only some - the lazy and ones who weren't raised correctly.

AbnMike fits so well into corporate image he gets to be a 1st class flight model. Congrats. You'd look like a walking joke with misplaced priorities around here. Other places you'd fit in fine. The realization that your car, house, clothes, have no effect on one's humanity is certainly more common on the west coast. That said, maturity results in decent dress by realizing branded clothing is expensive and no one cares about your sports team, brand, video game, or band anyways. Better to spend the cash on quality and comfort.

Nah. Pretty much everything I own I get from the Goodwill. I do have a nice camelhair long coat from Jos A Banks that sells for about $600 but I got it at the Goodwill for $20. I have three Pendleton wool coats - same thing: Goodwill, less than $20 each. Have a Filson Oil cloth coat, a Filson Mackinaw cruiser, Filson fishing waterproof coat with hood and a Filson vest - picked them all up on the same day: Filson cost for all: $1700. AbnMike's cost for all? $125. Goodwill.

It doesn't cost money to have nice things if you look.

You mean like on quality and comfortable clothes? Done.

Plus I don't buy that no one in Oregon dresses well and if they do they look like a walking joke.

You guys sure do get offended easily.

Just don't talk about your steaks, cooler, gun or grill being better. Avoid those you'll be fine.

My dad was a cook all his life in steak houses. A steak on a grill - hell you might as well microwave the damned thing. A steak should be seared on both sides for 30 seconds then broiled in the oven in a cast iron pan around 250 degrees until cooked, period, end of story.

The only thing a grill is good for is hamburgers and hotdogs. Maybe veggies. Or crap meat.

Brian, you're definitely on to something there.

And how that makes you a chef?

Huh? No. It means I know a good steak, and how to make one.

And anyone who puts a steak over an open flame is probably retarded.

My dad would cook steaks over an open flame at $35 and up a pop for mouth breathers all night long.

And on weekends when he made a steak for himself it was done the way I described above. True for most chefs.

Have no idea who "AbnMike" is but I'll agree with him - a grilled steak is an abomination to a cut of meat! Seer and broil baby! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
