Was anyone else relieved that the asshole wasn't some cousin-fucking fundamentalist from Bent Armpit, Tennessee?

I've been wondering how long it would be in our media-saturated era before an individual managed to produce an appropriate volume of casualties in a domestic mass shooting, given all of the advantages in play.

Most just leave me scratching my head when I read about them, given their lack of effectiveness. It's just baffling.

Cheers,

Kennith

I've been watching Good Morning America since 7am PST, and the word Muslim or Islam hasn't been mentioned. You know that Islam is a religion of peace, right?

I'm sure this will sound a bit naive but are attacks like these going to become the new normal?

The fact it keeps being referred to as a mass shooting and not as a terrorist attack is pretty upsetting to me. This isn't some wacko in a movie theatre or slack jawed racist and it doesn't seem like people are willing to recognize this is a bigger issue

I think this event just clinched Trumps presidency.

The event hasnt; however the typical liberal reaction has. By focusing on gun control rather than calling a spade a spade, they have given the next election to Trump.

Whether the exact cause of his attack is simply hatred for LGBT or radical Islam or the two combined it needs to be acknowledged and emphasized rather than AR15S are bad mmmmkay. If there wasn't an weapon that looks similar to a military weapon then the only difference would have been the headlines. Bomb blows up club or poison gas attack at club.

Exactly. Obama was very weak in his response/speech. Trump came out strong. People see this. As big of a dumbass Trump is, he showed leadership.

Easier than you think if you have the tools. The parts are available.

I didn't stay at a holiday inn express last night, but given the accounts of how quickly he was getting shots off, that sounds like what he did.

If so, that would be one issue with selling them other than "it looks scary ".

Religion of Peace update:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Vev-OzHQy94" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

While the social justice warriors have been up in arms about people not wanting to make a wedding cake for gay couples, the religion of peace has been calling for the death of gay people. These same social justice warriors are too fucking terrified about pissing off Muslims, so they just avoid it altogether.

This is the outcome of political correctness. Welcome to our new normal.

I still don't know how this could happen. Guns are banned in nightclubs / bars.

If someone really wants to kill someone, odds are they will succeed.

It is difficult to balance making that task less easy while also respecting the 2nd.

Of course. That's why moronic, feel good, restrictions on the second amendment only serve to make it easier to kill.

A gun free zone is the simplest example of how these restrictions on the second amendment has unintended consequences. Feel gooders setup a gun free zone to keep everyone safe. Anyone who is rational is going to leave their gun at home before going into a gun free zone because of the punishment involved. I can't carry my pistol into my kids school when I pick her up. Not only is it a gun free zone, but it's a weapons free zone. It's the safest place around.

The problem lies with the fact that when someone who is willing to die in order to serve the God of the religion of peace doesn't care about being punished by violating a gun law. These gun free zones are the perfect place for someone who "really wants to kill someone".

I'd have to do some research, but I think that nearly every of the mass shootings in the last 10 years have been in gun free zones.

According to the left, the only possible solution is to have more gun control. It is completely out of the realm of possibility to relax gun laws.

Still awaiting to see how the far left reacts to this. I am not making assumptions, but guessing that the club was packed with mostly liberal leaning voters has me curious how they will react now. The left loves the idea of letting Muslims into the USA to live their lives and the left loves the idea of gun control. Now both of those things have deeply impacted their ideologies in one tragic event. I understand that like any religion there will be some radicals who do not represent the masses, but these events do not help their causes.

As the BBC news put it in their reporting "Just another day in America"

That is sad.

What would you expect from the BBC? They despise the US because we are silly enough to allow rednecks to carry guns. It's that simple. Of course they wouldn't say the same thing about France when Jews get killed by some maniac yelling Allahu Akbar.
