I have a 2000 Dicovery and am getting a P1451 code for a faulty leak detection pump. Has anyone else figured the repair out for this?

If you're lucky (sort of...) you may find a broken wire. Otherwise you may need a new pump. On my '04 I found that all the wires near the plug were broken, a simple re=spice was all that was needed. Don't know how such a thing happened, but there you are.

And that's the pump on the passenger side of the vehicle?

Yes, towards the rear passenger door up on inside of the frame. And, it can be a bit of a bear to get out. But, possibly there is a hose that's cracked or something. Check things out before buying another pump set-up.

So mine is a 2000 and doesn't have that pump. It is the old school canister so I'm going to have to dig deeper to see what could cause that code.1000001680.jpg

I crawled underneath yesterday and looked for that pump while I was cleaning the undercarriage and all I have is the charcoal canister from what I could see.

Thats the purge canister with the center hose connected to it coming from the purge valve from the engine, the upper is a vent hose and the last hose goes to the fuel fill pipe. I didn’t see the leak pump but should be inline with the canister. I’m looking at the diagrams for a reference. Got to be in that general area.

It looks like Roverparts.com has a different type of solenoid at the end of the fresh air line that should be on mine that I will try to find tomorrow.
I’m thinking that the lower hose is where you will find the pump also look for the electrical connection.
