I know I payed way to much for my 07 L322 but it spent 4 years in California and 4 years in Florida so being rust free was one justification for the price. Dealer serviced with all records was the second. Overall mint condition and it being Giverney green sealed the deal. I've owned a shitload of vehicles but I really love this truck. I think its as close to rrc in a modern version as you can get. The lux package makes it twice as nice. It's garage kept and only goes out on the weekends so at this point it's more of an investment to me. Eventually it will get lifted and will get custom tree pinstriping but that's not for a lot of years. My advice would be to hold out and try to pick up a 06 to 11 L322. The 4.4 jag by all accounts is a great motor and from what I've heard those are the best years for the big daddy's.

If I was looking to get a daily driver I totally agree. The problem is it seems alot of other people agree too since they run like $15k+ :)

I was comparing the BMW version cause its teetering on the edge of cheap fuck truck territory.

Is it the bosch electronics you dont like, or the blocks?

The Bosch engine management is about the only change in the P38. If you look at schematics in the rest of the car connector numbers change but thats about it. I just dont care for the Bosch engine Management I guess. I just have never liked anything BMW did to the product. They sullied it all.

Owned P38's since 98, started with a GEMS and currently have an 01.
But with prices of the Mk3 L322 RR around $6k i was interested.
Just picked up a locally owned silver 04 RR with the lux package with 101K, one owner, was under extended warranty up to 100k with dealer service history.

Of course to remind me its a LR, it marked its new ownership by throwing a code P0443 :(

looking to fit a 32.5 inch tyre in a 265/60/ R20 or 265/70/ R18 with a lift using the Gap IIDTool and Johnson Rods, except the rear has a different design of height sensor link so the rear Johnson rods won't work.

Same here, really interested in the L322. The price of the Ph I is around 1/3 the price of the PhII in the local used market. I am still doing a lot of reading on the issues of the L322. I am more interested in the PhII with the 4.2, as it seems like most of the issue are with the Phase I.
