Well, I have the car now. I have driven a few, but not really driven like they are mine. This car drives great. SCV6 is a bit whiney.

probably dirtiest it's ever been

first snow of season today

one of my two or three selfies, I suck at it.

Running boards must go. They make it harder to get in..... Crazy.

I just picked this up on my birthday. So far it's a blast to drive. Think it'll make a nice soft roader with the D2 for the rougher stuff.

3 head gaskets, but that was about it.

I love it. It's a bit loud I will do an engine oil replacement with the spendy stuff. I think that new brakes and rotors are cheap. First off road trip I could smell brake pads and a lot of dust on wheels.

I love the way it drives. So nice to have Meridian Sound and quiet interior. Cross traffic alert and blind spot work really well.

Crack in interior door latch trim annoys me. Didn't catch that in the pictures.

Wish it would remember all settings on AC/heat. Seems to always default to rear on and some other settings I don't use.

Can I fold mirrors without locking vehicle?

Such a great vehicle. Reconsidering bumpers. Maybe try the prospeed winch tray. Not as concerned about rear bumper as it seems almost necessary to get spare out from under an mucking with rear isn't as aesthetic to me.

Melvil and Moon covers and GAP Tool are next.

I think I am glad I went for the features on the 2016. Trying to replenish my savings account though. Debating if the D1 goes.

Glad to hear you like it. I was also struck by how amazingly quiet and smooth the LR4 is compared to previous Discoveries (although I have no experience with the LR3).

Mine also had brand new rotors and pads when I bought it. Turned out to be cheap china shit that I immediately warped. Now running OEM front & rear at quite an expense (about $1700-1800).

My climate control always starts where I leave it. I just keep both sides on 60 degrees and then turn the dial for fan speed as needed and switch on or off AC as needed. Although it's finally cooling off here in AZ so I had to bump up the temp the other morning.

Fold mirrors = hold L and R switches for a sec

My new stereo receiver/CD/DVD player arrived yesterday. Going to plug it in tonight and hopefully it solves my constantly-rebooting radio issue. Here's the current state of my dash:

I just did an oil change with Liqui Moly 6600 (0w20) and it definitely quieted down over the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w20 I've been using. Pennzoil changed the blend on it, and increased the price and it isn't as good as it used to be. I've noticed the truck "seemed" louder lately, so I switched it up. Sending a sample out to Blackstone bc I do that almost every oil change anyway. FCPEuro stocks Liqui Moly oil change kits with the filter.

if the expensive LR stuff quiets it, I will use it. Always used Castrol products.

Every oil change? How often do you do oil changes?

Are you still going with your old pronouns?

I think we can squeeze a winch on the front somewhere....

.
Getting ready to drop one of these in it so yes.

almost every one. Didn’t do the one before this week’s. I try to keep it under 7000, my longest was 7700ish. I’m still waiting on some more sample jars from blackstone.

Just a random anecdote… I recently bought a 2011 Range Rover that was pretty quiet when I bought it. I did an oil change with JLR branded Castrol 0w20 and the motor is super noisy. Very obvious now that I need to replace the timing chain tensioners and guides. I’m curious what oil they had in it to make it quiet.

Probably something thick enough to cause corrolation faults up north. I just don't think anything but a change in viscosity could effect noise.
