Anyone know if Pikes Peak Rovers is still in business down in Colorado Springs? I called the other day to schedule some maintenance on my 04D2 and the number isn't working. Have tried several times since with no success. Their website doesn't mention anything. ???

It seems like Pikes Peak Rovers closed down. Asked at the desk of the new car shop there (Road Runner Auto & Truck Repair) and they told me they closed down and the premises were acquired by Road Runner. Not sure where Eric Holder is now (the former owner of Pikes Peak Rovers). Have had to take my car to Balta on 8th Street now.

Eric said they had to close because business got too slow. Sad really. I don't know what he is up to now though. They are renting out the shop now.

How is Balta?

This reply is way late however, for Colorado Springs based Land Rover folks, I can provide some feedback. Balta is good but pricey and usually booked. He's worked on my Disco a few times and has been most thorough, my complaint is that he rounds his work up to the nearest hour and at $100/hour it tends to make a difference.

What I really liked about Eric & PPR was that they'd work with their customers to find low cost alternatives to repairs or improvements. Balta's not like that at all.

Aside from that he really seems to know his way around Land Rovers and his shop is generally full hence the difficulty in getting work done when you need it.

I'm trying a different shop called TJ's Auto on Monte View just east of Nevada Avenue. The shop is owned by a former Land Rover mechanic and has stellar on-line reviews. We'll see.
