Hey guys,

My 95 DI can't seem to keep a steady idle. I've replaced sparkplugs/wires, iac valve & the fuel filter. I'm about ready to bring it to the mechanics as I can't drive a unreliable car with my 6 month old son in the back. I also checked the vacuum lines, all seem to be intact, the vacuum control unit seems to be a suspect, how is this tested? Any suggestions?

thanks

Also, under highway speed, there's no hesitation at all. No codes are being thrown.

Thanks for the replies guys. Will, no roughness whatsoever. When I'm in drive and come to a stop, it'll just die.

I had that problem on my 95 disco. It is the IAC valve (also known as the stepper motor) located at the back of the plenum chamber. Remove it and hose it down with carb cleaner. Squirt some in the hole and re-fit. All in all it is a 5 minute job. That should do the trick if not you might have to replace it. It's a really common problem on those and a really easy fix. Good luck.
