I remember talking to Mike talking how the only Rover part on that truck was the body, it was Chevy powered as one can tell. He also surprised me in saying he still ran stock axle shafts on those monsters, haha. Plus a little Locker Installation 101 for my little 'ole Disco.

Michael David VanCuren, Jr., age 38, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 1st. He is survived by his wife Windy, his daughter Maddy, and many other loving family members.

Mike was a graduate of The New Community School in Richmond, Virginia and an Account Manager for SSI Packaging. Mike was a devoted son, husband, and father who lived life to its fullest each and every day.

He was passionate about life in every aspect, whether it was his deep love for sharing adventures with Windy and Maddy, mountain biking in the deserts of Utah, rock crawling with his Land Rover buddies, or helping clients succeed while doing a job he loved. He leaves a legacy of love and was a friend to many, from Finland to Australia to Texas and Virginia and beyond.

Mike shared himself in a genuine and selfless way with all who knew him, and Mike's family takes great comfort in the fact that he lives on in the hearts of those fortunate to have known him.

According to his wishes, Mike's body was cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 17th at 2pm. The service will take place at a dear friend’s to celebrate his life – 11263 Moffett Lane, Unionville, VA 22567.

Mike and I were good friends. I am still in disbelief that all of this has happened. I remember when I got my D90. He had his lifted subaru outback. He drove the rover and got the rover bug. The rest is history. I will miss him. We had some great times over the years. What a privledge.

For those attending the service, there will be space for camping on site. The Comfort Inn in Orange will also be available at a discounted rate (540-672-3121).
Those who wish to trailer your Rover, there will be an area for tow rig parking, please follow the signs.

Good turnout both Rover and otherwise. Got a few pictures on the phone, but can't attatch them here and I don't do the photo sharing sites. Thank you Rick for hosting the service.
