Hey all... I am possibly taking on a huge part in planning a ralley... I am trying to come up with some of the accomidation ideas... If you were to attend a big ralley would you prefer adding the expense of hotel/motel or would you rather camping? Personally I am more leaning twards the camping side just because of the community angle of things... Any info/opinions would be great...

Thanks

Yeh you gotta offer both. Check the 'MAR 2008' thread for good, bad and ugly comments on the subject of LR events.

Unless it's a relatively small group of younger people that you know well enough, you'll need to offer hotels close by.

I to prefer camping but you do need to offer both or at least have hotels within a reasonable commute to the event.

The camping area should also have bathroom/showers, for those that have families ideally.

I'm getting older as well. A single day now and then I like to camp but a longer event covering sevaral days or more such as a rally, etc then I like the motel option of a warm bed, shower, and good meals.

I prefer Jewish camping.... gotta be a Marriot or better :D

I seemed to be the only one who stayed at the state park for the AZLRO rally. Everyone else was at motels or the KOA. Had my tent and one burner stove all set up. Next time I'll be upwind from the pit toilets :ack:

I go both ways....... wait, whoa, what are we discussing?? **Just saw the "Village People" video - :smilelol:

Anyway. I LOVE a warm bed and a good hot shower after a long day on my ass and getting dirty..... wait, again, what are we talking about?? :leaving:

Camping is excellent if there are GOOD facilities and the group as a whole are civilized and all.

A hotel is great if at least reasonable in price, very close by and there are a bunch of the event attendees staying there so you feel like you're "included" in the event.

LOL. Many many moons ago my wife and I spent our honeymoon (over 4 months of it) backpacking and camping in Australia and New Zealand.... I am no stranger to camping and in fact I LOVE it. If there is not another easy option I would be very very happy camping out - but given the option I like a warm dry bed.

**Old fart I guess
