Range Rover classics are great to drive, but I just can't deal with the rust that all of them have. And before any of you California guys chime in about the rust, fuck you...
Saw a 95 LWB at the junkyard yesterday. Reasonably clean outside, very clean inside, rusted to shit underneath - Texas truck...

JJ - when Mark P continues his discussion about why Texas is better than California, I think I have a new argument (two rust-free 95 Classics).

from texas its whole life? or just the last place?

and we do have 367 miles of coastline in this state so maybe one or two rovers ended up near there and rusted a little.

It had some Gold Coast stickers on it... Upper tailgate rusted through, so were front passenger floorboard, cargo compartment floor, lots of rust on the frame, etc.

I love my 95 LWB RRC....if you want one that "feels" like a luxury auto AND has the added benefit of the heritage of an awesome off road machine with CLASSIC looks....you cant beat it. IMHO.

I have a 91 RR and absolutely love it. Of course it is still in almost showroom condition (couple of dings here and there). Only has 79,500 miles on it. I honestly prefer the pre 95 RR classics.

Since we are posting what we have... I have a 95 LWB that just turned 62,000 miles, no rust, spotless int. (besides the seat ECU not working). I bought it for $4500 with 41,000 miles on it 2 yrs ago and it wasn't for sale. Right place, right time.
Actually it's my wife DD, so it's not really mine. She liked it better than her 04 Disco so the Disco had to go.

Remember would-be buyer, just because it doesn't have a sign on it doesn't mean it's not for sale.

How can you determine if a 1995 rrc lwb you're looking at that is out-of-state is 50-state emissions compliant? Any concrete evidence that can be pointed to? I assumed the vin would be an easy tell, but it is not. None of the explanations of the vin code on the interweb are in agreement, or are complete enough in that portion of the vin. There are a couple I'm interested in, but....can't get past this problem. Hell, all I may need to know is a list of required equipment.

Thanks

In case anybody in the future is looking up this same question, I may have an answer. It appears the classics were all 50-state compliant, and the emissions equipment started to be different with the '95 P38 model. Also, I called British Pacific, and they said they do not ever come across any searches for 95 rrc's that have parts that differentiate between 50-state and 49-state vehicles.

Comments, confirmations?
