Not sure on the D1's; however, on the DII's there is a sticker in the glove box. The last digits on the sticker should be the radio code.

Your post leaves me wondering do you have the code numbers? If so when you switch the radio on it will flash....code..... enter the numbers on the punch buttons. if you have entered the sequence correctly the radio should flash up.....

If the radio will not accept the code numbers, leave the radio turned on for an hour then retry the code entry, it should accept the code now.....

Good Luck........

He's asking for the procedure to enter the code, not the code itself...

I'm pretty sure the procedure should be in the owner's manual for your truck. Look under the section for the radio. Unfortunately I have a '96 D1 and I'm pretty sure my radio is different from yours, so I don't want to lead you down the wrong path by giving you an incorrect procedure.

What if the Nimrod that sold you the truck lost the owners manual?:banghead:
Not 100% sure on this, but I believe that you may be able to get some help from your LR dealer for that (?). My dad had an Audi some years ago and lost the code somehow. The dealer managed to get it for him (from Audi's head office I think). Since he was the owner of the car, there was no issue with the radio being stolen so they were very helpful apparently.

Replaced the battery on mine a couple times but was never prompted for the radio code. Hmm.

Is there a window of oppurtunity where you can change the battery within a short period of time without it prompting you for the code? Hmmm. Like changing the batteries in your electric house thermostat. If you change it quickly, you will not have to re-program your thermostat. Every time I disconnect the truck battery, it has always been an extended period of time. so this is just a thought because I have no experience to prove it.

Well, not sure if there is a window. Just recently i replaced a Yellow Top with a brand new one. Had the battery out of the truck for about an hour and a half. No issues with the code when i re-installed it.

It's safe to assume there's no window in that time frame. Back to lurking.
