95 rrc. My truck randomly loses all power, driving or not. Everything goes dead. Dash, dome light, everything. While driving, it's just a quick flash, everything off, then back on. No correlation to bumps in road etc..

Battery cables are clean & tight. All is good to fuse block. Battery shows good charge, alternator reads over 14. Grounds are good..

Any ideas?

Does the 95 have the same firewall positive post as the older RRCs?

Maybe set up test wires from different parts to see where the power dies. Battery, alternator, fuse box/firewall post. Ground your voltmeter directly to the battery.

I don't know how many times the average person would need/use it, but I had an idea for a switchbox with 5-6 input leads and one output. Break before make switch in a box. Connect wires with alligator clamps on the end to monitor voltage at different locations. connect output to DVM. Poor man's multi-channel O-scope. (if I thought of if probably means someone's been making it for years).

Check that wire that runs from the positive post of the battery, to the fuse box under the bonnet..( hood) i've seen a loss of power from corrosion there.

I did. It was very clean.

It ended up being an internal short in the alternator. Swapped out and used an overdrive pulley. No issues and a stronger idle.

Hopefully problem solved.
