What is the easiest method of extending the bump stops a couple of inches on a D2? I put on a 2 inch lift and it's not because of that, it's because the new tires will hit the fenders before the stops.

I think Terrafirma makes longer bump stops?
If not, just go with some universal ones from Daystar. You just need to get the measurements to see what length you need. Remember to add .5"-1" for compression of the bump

I would still first measure the distance between axle and frame at full compression. Then compare that to what the advertised length is of those direct fit bump stops. I wouldn't doubt that they barely work with a 2" lift.

The old school method was to temporarily strap a block of wood to the axle, effectively lengthening the bump stop. Try different thicknesses as you articulate the suspension until you find the perfect set up. You have now identified the correct spacer thickness, or extended bump stop height (when combined with your stock bump stop).

Thanks for the replies, sounds like some tubing and maybe longer bolts to extend the originals is how I'll go. need to crawl under there and take a look.
