So my Disco came with the factory stainless steel brush guard on it. I prefer the black ones. Is this something that could be powder coated or would it not adhere to it? What about Rhino Lining it?

I know its been said before and to each their own, but I would recommend you remove it. If you hit it, it will fold back into your grille and bumper, possibly hood. Mine folded back when guy in front of me reversed at a red light, couldn't have been going faster than 5mph. It was the other trucks ball hitch which did the damage on the lower cross bar. Luckily the way it came back went right under hood and popped it up. Didn't bend it but I did need to get new latch as well.

If you really need a place for your lights, and don't want am aftermarket bumper, get the LR light bar. http://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/_images/_images/l/789-stc50243_lamp_bar_disco_2_black_o_e__part.jpg

Coating stainless in a way that won't come off ten minutes after you're done will require enough money that you'd be better off selling the bar and buying an aftermarket bumper.

Dude, those factory stainless ones were really expensive. You'd probably be able to sell it, and make enough to get a new black one.

I'm afraid the black ones are pretty much **** as well. Good for tree branches, etc., but that's about it. Go ARB, etc. Rovertym makes the strongest ones, but they are also very heavy. You get what you pay for, except when it comes to most stock LR accessories . . .

Put it on ebay. There are those who like bling on these things. I sold my factory guard for $250 on there, and it was only the black one.
