1994 Classic with factory alarm

Is it possible to remove/disarm the alarm system but still retain the central locking system? I don?t have the remotes so keeping it keyless isn?t a concern.

Thanks!

as far as I know it is one module with two modes, one feeds off the other.
in any chance using the key to lock unlock the door activates /deactivates the alarm.
may be this will be of help if you plan on messing with the wires.
the12volts.com.. it gives you wire schematics for alarm installation so you wouold have an idea of what to look for.
landroverresource.com is an online copy of the rave, it gives you the whole wiring diagram of the vehicle if you feel like following a blue print.

I'll be digging into RAVE this weekend if I have the time. This isn't a high priority project.

I just want to be able to lock and unlock as normal from the driver door but do not want the alarm to arm and disarm as I'm doing it. I was hoping for an easy "unplug one of these connectors from the module" fix.

Thanks!

I didn't have any FOBs and I could never tell if it worked anyway, so I took my alarm out. I tied my push-to-start relay to an always-on line. It won't run when it's not supposed to because there's no 12v to the engine except if the key is on. All works and runs just fine with central lock ECU without alarm.

Interestingly, if I unplugged the connector pigtail, nothing worked. If I just unplugged the alarm and kept the pigtail, it worked just fine. I have no idea why.

Dug into RAVE but the copy I have shows nothing for a 1994 factory alarm system and because the entire pdf is a scanned copy of the service manual, the word search is useless. That being said I was able to piece together enough information to get me to the driver's door lock actuator. When locked, the driver's door lock activates a micro switch that closes the alarm circuit. If I unplug/disable this micro switch then the alarm will not arm.

I think I'm on the right track but won't know until I find the actual wiring diagram or remove the door panel to investigate further.
