It's "to spite" your face. The idea is that you're trying to piss off your face but, in reality, you're really just fucking yourself up even more.

Ya know, that's what I typed first, and I thought about it, but couldn't remember which it was. It was late, and I was still at work, so didn't pay it much mind. Next time I'll remember.

Stu - Obama hasn't been perfect, or even great, but he's FAR better than Bush, and I think it's important to have some semblance of balance of power in the government - NeoCons in control of Congress AND the Presidency again is a dangerous prospect.

They were all over Romney last night. They brought up the dog story where Romney straps the family pet (in his dog carrier) to the top of the station wagon during a family vacation.

After several hours the dog "becomes sick" and shits itself and all down the back windshield. Romney promptly pulls over at a gas station and cleans off all parties with a garden hose. He continued his family trip with the dog strapped to the roof.

And this guy has won twice now. The man has no common sense doing shit like that.

That's awesome. He just locked up my vote right there.

I disagree. I'd take Bush back in a heartbeat.

At this point, I'm starting to look back longingly to the Clinton days. At least he wasn't trying to "fundamentally change America". His main concern was getting hummers from fat interns.

Isn't that the truth? I'd much rather have a President who wants to be popular and get hummers than our current ideologue.

The ideologue is just the guy who got elected, not the guy in the whitehouse. The guy in the whitehouse is reasonable, exceptionally moderate on every issue, and willing to compromise.

In spite of what the media (campaigns included) would have you believe, Bill Clinton was actually more liberal than President Obama.

Not after he rejected the Keystone Pipeline.

There are MANY moderates who oppose the keystone pipeline. That thing is an ecological disaster waiting to happen, and with the rapid advances of algae based fuel, it may not even be necessary.

Rick Perry is out. I knew he'd never make it.

Did anyone actually take Perry seriously? I'll admit that I was a bit interested when I heard "governor of Texas" as in someone who might actually have a set of balls but then I started hearing Perry speak and I lost all interest.

You make it sound as if every pipeline is a disaster. This pipeline would involve better technology. Your conclusion is simply incorrect, period.

When you huff spray paint, do you prefer silver or gold? I've heard mixed reviews on both and wanted to hear from someone who obviously huffs this shit all day long.

Wrong. There are pipelines running all over this country and they are just fine. The doom & gloom naysayers are full of shit. And what's this crap about algae? LOL.....let's NOT build a pipeline for real oil because we really really hope that someone will invent magic oil for us. And how are we going to transport the magic algae based fuel? How about we build us a pipeline?

No, there are plenty of pipelines that have been very useful and not entirely detrimental to the environment. Even with better technology the risk factor for this one is just too high. This particular pipeline is underground, and it runs in extremely close proximity (and at one point actually ran THROUGH) the largest aquifer in North America. This is the source of drinking and farm water for millions of people, and is needed to grow food for tens if not hundreds of millions. If it were contaminated it wouldn't just be an environmental crisis - it'd be a national security crisis, an economic crisis, and potentially even a fucking HUNGER crisis. All for what? A few jobs, and $ .02 a gallon cheaper gas?? We have to balance risk vs reward here - it's just not worth it.

Blue - I'm not opposed to pipelines. I'm opposed to THIS pipeline.

As for "magic oil"... you must not have been paying attention. It's real. ...and it's right here in San Diego. http://www.sapphireenergy.com/

How do you think the pipeline is constructed? It's not as if they have ol' Cooter put down his jug of moonshine and weld together a few sections of rusty pipe. These systems have leak detection down to an incredible level of precision and accuracy.
