Revving by itself after water crossing

I almost feel for those Prius owners right now. I did a few water crossings after the recent floods - nothing special, about 1 foot deep / 300 feet long on a road. Several minutes later my D2 does this:

1. Revs all by itself. Once I was in gear in traffic and it lurched forward a few feet. And just now while it was up on ramps and no-one was inside, it revved up (in Park) for a second and then settled down again to idle.

2. Transmission is entering limp-home mode, around 10 minutes after such a water crossing. Twice now it has done this. Flashing M and S lights as well. Resets itself ok if I turn it off.

3. Engine light is on with the following codes:

- P1590 Rough road signal hardware OK but bad SLABS signal.
- P1300 General misfire
- P0308 Cyl. 8 misfire
- P0306 Cyl. 6 misfire
- P0335 Crankshaft position sensor circuit malfunction.
- P0300 Excess emissions on more than one cylinder.

Are all these things related or do I have two different problems here? I just drained the transmission oil and it was nice and clean, and about the right amount drained out (2-3 qts). Batttery is good with 12.4V engine off. No problems starting.

Do you think water is hitting the CKP sensor?

Cheers for any help,

Dean

No, no pine barrens. Just a regular road about 1/2 mile from my house.

I used to be able to drive through 3-4' of water, am I just getting old nowadays?

Here's an update: I changed the ATF 4 times and it's coming out nice and clean - was never too dirty. Test ride and the engine light was off when I started her up, but it came on again almost immediately:

All the above codes plus P0305 and P0301 - various different cylinder misfires. Clearly this is BS and a bad sensor, but can anyone tell me which ones to begin looking into?

I get the sense that it is a low-down sensor, because the water was quite low - it was definitely not hitting the MAF (also I have a snorkel).

I suspect the CKP sensor because it's down there.

I'm using coolant though, not much but I see a few drips on the bottom of the engine sometimes.
