I almost feel for those Prius owners right now. I did a few water crossings after the recent floods - nothing special, about 1 foot deep / 300 feet long on a road. Several minutes later my D2 does this:
1. Revs all by itself. Once I was in gear in traffic and it lurched forward a few feet. And just now while it was up on ramps and no-one was inside, it revved up (in Park) for a second and then settled down again to idle.
2. Transmission is entering limp-home mode, around 10 minutes after such a water crossing. Twice now it has done this. Flashing M and S lights as well. Resets itself ok if I turn it off.
3. Engine light is on with the following codes:
- P1590 Rough road signal hardware OK but bad SLABS signal.
- P1300 General misfire
- P0308 Cyl. 8 misfire
- P0306 Cyl. 6 misfire
- P0335 Crankshaft position sensor circuit malfunction.
- P0300 Excess emissions on more than one cylinder.
Are all these things related or do I have two different problems here? I just drained the transmission oil and it was nice and clean, and about the right amount drained out (2-3 qts). Batttery is good with 12.4V engine off. No problems starting.
Do you think water is hitting the CKP sensor?
Cheers for any help,
Dean
