That article never once mentions what instrument he played. He was a keyboardist and was booted out of the band at one point. Roger and he never got along too well.

Yeah, it doesn't mention that he was the keyboardist, but it does tell a bit about his problems with Waters. Of course, Gilmour and Waters aren't really drinkin' buddies anymore either, eh?
Rumor has it that he committed suicide, which is why the family does not want to comment on the death. I guess he finally had enough
"The family of Richard Wright, founder member of Pink Floyd, announce with great sadness that Richard died today after a short struggle with cancer," a spokesman for the Wright family said.

Ha! You got me beat! I saw 'em at Vandy in '94.... (ie, sans Waters....), the Division Bell tour... not my favorite CD of theirs, but hey..... it was still a great show...

You know, most people who are PF fans really do seem to get into the pre-DSOTM stuff, and, while, yeah, I really like it, I still prefer DSOTM, WYWH, and the Wall....
i haven't listened to much floyd since I packed my cd's and moved to AZ and back. Feels like a good time to find that box.
