Bought our 03' Discovery from Miami and lived in Florida it's entire life parked in the sun due to Rovertym 2" lift. The roof has finally started to show wear since I never got up to wax it only the rest of the vehicle. The sun baked through the clear coat to the point of it being ruined in four spots.

The spots are in the center flat areas in front of the front sunroof and between the sunroofs finally behind the second sunroof. Just replaced the headliner and fixed the front sunroof drains and motor. Cosmetically it bothers me to see the damage. Budget is an issue. Any recommendations?

Was thinking of taping off the center between the luggage rails and blacking it out w/ Herculiner kit or should I suck it up and have it repainted professionally. The Disco is silver w/the Vigg black out hood decal.

your truck, your choice guy. whether it will look good or not it is your choice, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. lastly only you know how deep is your pocket in order to be able to afford a body shop.

I would not use a dark color, as that will turn the already oven of a vehicle these are into a turbochef.

Basically, there have been some (I think AZmax, or Blue or someone in AZ) that had/have white vehicles or white-out roofs and reported lowered internal temperatures after sitting in the sun vs a dark color vehicle.

Randy (Roverover) has a DII with a whiteout roof also.

But to each their own, whatever suits your taste and wallet.

Tape everything off yourself and find a budget paint shop and have them shoot it silver. Will look better than black or white in my opinion. Might not be back to factory, but at least it will look better than it does and last a while anyways.
