I had one for a short while.

From what I remember the 5 speeds were a Canadian market only. Mine was a 5 speed as well. Speedo was in KPH.

I never got it to run 100%, but as you likely know they were a dime a dozen in the UK. Mainly used as police units. But when it did run it was a smooth sedan.

Standard 3.5 litre motors, manual sunroofs, power windows and pretty basic interior. Mine had shag carpet!

There are a handful of SD1 groups on the web. I even found the guy that use to own my particular car.

I actually picked mine up at a small car auction in PA years ago. They had no idea what the hell it was. I think I paid like $700 or so for it.

Can't upload images right now, but will once I am able to.

I was joking...that turd never ran at all, right?

Oh it ran. Drove it back from Lock Haven to Boalsburg. Drove it around town a few times and then parked it at my parents and then the barn. I think it jumped time or the gear on the distributor went bad. I never messed around with it too much. Sold it and bought that white RRC.

I had an SDFUN for my first car. it was the family car prior to that. Mine ran great. even took the time to repaint it and do the top end at one point. we even still have a handful of new parts for it at the shop. including the doors. I drove it for maybe 4 years. finally had to let it go after the 3rd rear ender. I was young and had too much fun with it. I would love to find another decent one someday.

He did. But that didnt run either.

It did as you remember. The guy I bought it from just didn't wire the fuel pump. That truck actually runs pretty good when it is running. It has a slight tick in the motor, but I bet it (the motor) could run another 100K. Well maybe.
It has Jeff Bang's springs on it and Mike Noe's tires.

Yeah that truck drove through 3 feet of water and soaked the ECU (I am assuming) at our training area and isn't running right now. That reminds me..............

You didn't seal your ECU...? Noob. ;)
