Hello everyone,

Posted this in the part needed section for my 1987 RRC and figured it was worth a shot posting it here as well. I have been going through the wiring harness removing and replacing old sections of wire that appear to have melted at some point in the car's life. I came across a particular part that I couldn't identify. (see photo below) It appears to have two male bladed connectors on either side. I took the part to a local connector specialist, one that deals with automotive wiring harnesses, and he was stumped. He did not know what the blue connector was and he did not have anything in stock that would even resemble the part. So, if anyone knows what this part is or where I can purchase a few please let me know.

Kind Regards,
-cb

That is the tune resistor. I don't think many 14cux trucks sold in the US had those. In the 94-95 discovery EPROM it was disabled and not included in the wiring harness

This is located on the passenger side in the loom above the heater core. Between the driver side and passenger side I have found three of these. This is the only that is blue and the only one that is burnt.

'87s did not have tune resistors. They came out with the 14CUXs

No idea. Can you follow the wires to what the came from / to? Maybe a resistor for the AC or heating.

Yeah. Dug mine out and I see the the difference now.

That kind of looks like the resistor that goes between the Ecu and coil for the rpm input Is there a black plastic rectangle with a Lucas logo on it under the blue heat shrink?
