RRC Question for the "experts"

I finally have my wife talked into selling her mini-van so I can buy "her" a RRC.

I've been looking at several.

First question: LWB or SWB? This rig will primarily remain stock. I know the off-road guys like the SWB, but are the SWB cars less comfy? How much less room in the backseat than the LWB? I have tall sons. Is the SWB like the D1?

Second question: 95 or 94 and older? Everyone likes the '95s it seems. Are the 94 and older not as good or desireable?

I have found a 92 SWB in California. Original owner. The lady that owned it was a British lady. Older gal that recently passed. Her son is selling the rig. Has 150000 miles. He has all the history and documentation. It is Portofino Red. All stock. Everything works but right front window. Cruise, sunroof no leaky, etc. Its nice cuz it has no ABS. Owner is asking $3300.

I would pick this up ASAP, but not sure about LWB vs SWB.

Any suggestions? And, PT, I promise to refuse to tell you where it is. I don't want your SWMBO ticked at me. :)

Everyone likes the '95s because of the new disco style dash (and updated hvac controls). I would love to have a 95 LWB, with working air springs. If you have tall kids, or will have adults with you, LWB is the way to go. There's something like 7 inches more in the back seat which makes a world of difference. My SWB has a little more legroom than my g/f's sentra, mostly because you sit more upright. Off-road I think they're both just as capable.
94 and older have a unique dash design and hvac system. It never really made sense to me, maybe it made sense to the English. I still have the stock radio in because the replacement I have is too long, and I haven't bothered to find a shorter one. I worry about the angle of the radio, don't know if cd players will have a problem with it.

Take a look at the truck, if it looks good and feels good to you, buy it! (that's PT's moto, right? ;) )

SWMBO says "There is a reason the Queen rides around in an LWB"!

She has also said that driving one is like driving a school bus with a convertible top!

The only time I wouldn't want to have an LWB is if I had a teenage daughter, there is WAY too much room abck there:D (keep in mind, I've been told that if I treated my kids like I treat my cats, they'd be 40 befor they'd date!).

edit-I just got another one, you can have this one!

Sitting in the back of an LWB is like sitting on your couch at home.

And no, I would NOT let a daughter of mine drive an LWB either.

Well, thank you everyone for the replies. I figured as much on the LWB. Vs SWB. Guess I didn't know there was that much difference in length.

I have lots of kids. The twins are very big. Probably gonna need the LWB.

PT, you're always one step ahead of me. That 94 is very nice looking!

Dangit, all this talk about LWB's is making me wish I had one instead of my D1... between the wolf, the wife, and the ever growing boy, it just keeps on getting smaller and smaller in there.

Thing is though, I don't think I could get as much for my D1 as I'd need to spend on an LWB and accessorizing it to get it up to speed so to speak. :\

My DI beats the rear cargo room of a RRC LWB hands down. The ability to load a tall item is not in the RRCs list of capabilities.

Solution? DI AND a RRC LWB :D

Mark... LWB with folded rear seats has more room than a D1 with folded rear seats.
That said, I absolutely agree on a D1 AND an LWB.

Only room for one vehicle here in DC... LWB is gonna have to wait for me, if it ever happens at all. D1 is still a great truck, I must say I do really like it.

It looks pretty nice. Unmolested. Are you familiar with this rig? Have you seen it?

Everyone here has pretty much convinced me to get a LWB for the wife. My sons are 6'3". If the back of a SWB is tight for Roverlday, I'm guessing my boys would be pissed.

I'm just excited my wife wants her own Rover!

My wife daily drives my old '95 LWB... It replaced her Escalade and she loves it
Joel, she seriously likes that compared to her Escalade? WOW!

Howd you pull that off?[/quote]

It's in the secret "Guidebook to Women" that I just picked up on Craigslist. This book rocks!

Wait until she decides she wants MORE than one of her own! ;)

I'm cool with that! Sus, can I give you her number? Maybe you can convince her she needs more than one! ;)
