Ruined Two Tires Towing

I borrowed Steve Limbert's (air cooled racing) trailer and Steve said that if I had the engine of the Porsche over the axles of the trailer I would be fine. The trailer is only 1500 lbs. and the car is under 2500 lbs. Tongue weight of the trailer I think was 150 lbs. but again I will have to check to be sure this is correct.

I have had mine in deep sand at Pismo Beach sand dunes in California. I think with the stock tires on sand, the LR3/D3 is a land anchor, but with some decent rubber on there, it does fine. I am running 31.5" (285/60/18) Nitto's and aired down to 15 PSI, I had no problems other than my limited ground clearance at the time reduced my speed. (my larger wheels were rubbing something fierce on the stock coil springs back then, which were lower than normal air suspended mode)

I haven't been back since my 65mm lifted springs, but I am looking forward to it!

The dealer is picking up the LR3 thursday to do the TSB and replace the tires. It sounds like I will have to pay 50% of the tire cost due to proration. One would think if they KNEW that there was a TSB out and THEY where installing a trailer hitch, wiring, doing an oil change and checking the truck for a 3,400 mi tow that they would have done the TSB.I will wait and see how much they charge and then have a nice chat about this.

I got the LR3 back and had to pay 50% of the two tires they put on,the alignment, mounting and balancing was no charge.
I feel this a poor compromise as I would had only had to pay 20% had they done this BEFORE I left on my 3400 mile trip.
LRNA has been less than satisfactory in their handling of this problem. All they do is wait for a customer to complain about excessive tire wear, throw a little money toward tire replacement and align the vehicle.
They should admit that they have a problem and FIX the alignment issue.
I am waiting for a call back from the customer care supervisor at LRNA - I hope I get a more proactive response as to what and when they are going to address this problem.
I have been driving Land Rovers since the late 80's and I am aware of the their abnormal behavior at times. But this may well be the straw that breaks my loyalty.

I talked to the supervisor from LRNA today and they are unwilling to do any more than they have already done.I was told if i wish to join the class action law suit that is my decision to do so.
they supposedly have yet to figure out if it is a tire problem or a manufactuing flaw on their part.

I will have to do a search for the link to the class action suit and file.

So much for customer service from the manufacturer.

I got another call back from LRNA customer service and after further view they are giving me a $250.00 parts and service credit.
Hopefully there is a TSB in the future that will fix this problem before I need to replace my tires.
I feel this is at least a step in the right direction as far as customer satisfaction goes.
