You can make adjustments without the motor running, just fyi. Keep you from fearing for your life while wife is running through gears with her foot on brake or burning the fuck out of your arm on exhaust....
Got it sorted out this weekend, what a bitch to get the switch adjusted right again.
I used 8/32 SS screws and nylock nuts, but in hindsight I should have just riveted it again. I don't plan fiddling with that fucking thing ever again.
