Anyone know where you can still find a safety devices roof rack for a D2? (other than ebay)

I guess no one knows when and if they will make them again...

I was thinking someone may have some still in stock...but I've tried all the usual suspects.

If anyone has one for sale, let me know...I'm in AZ.

Thanks

I saw the D1 rack for sale on CL here in PHX. I think the issue is that it would be too short to cover the rest of the truck in the back.

I suppose I could wait and not have the hassle of the trade...

Definitely consider Urban Offroad's DII roof rack. It can be shipped to you in a much more useful state than buying a used SD rack. Between the light tabs, limb risers, tire carrier, HiLift mount and jerry can holder, you can't beat the price.

I live a few miles from Derek and have seen their work. It is top notch, welds are very clean, super high quality.

I saw their first prototypes of the LR3, Disco II, Defender 110 basket and Defender 90 soft top full rack. I must say, each one is impressive in its own way. I have often contemplated selling my D90 SD full rack to buy one of his. I haven't 'cause I remind myself how many people would love to have one, so you I keep it.

For a Disco II or LR3, though, I wouldn't hesitate for a second. They're that good.

I hope the quality is good because that thing is ugly! :ack: How much taller do you need the basket (three, maybe four feet)? It will be that much harder to lift things over that rear light gaurd. It just screams Lower MPG.
Don't get me wrong, I am sure people will buy it. Props do go out for someone capitalizing on a market.:D

thanks for the lead, but looking for feedback from any owners out there. defintatley want good feedback prior to buying so I dont end up like some of the NWP purchasers out there. anyways, those people on craigslist will have to do better than $175 for a rear ladder!

I want one of these elusive SD racks too! Its too bad no one else makes a similar good quality rack. I'm even considering the apparently dreaded NWP racks, as they appear to be clones of SD racks, albeit the quality may be suspect. Also, this NWP makes racks of this nature for other trucks, namely mitsubishi monteros, for which i also drive. Look at this link. http://www.northwestparts.com/images/Racks/100_2156.JPG

You cant find anything else that cool for monteros. I dont know if its worth the risk though.

Fantastic day! Passed a used car lot a 8 weeks ago and swung in to talk to them about a Series they had on the lot. Saw an 03 sitting on the lot with factory brush bar, light guards, and.....an sd rack. I asked the guy if they would part with the rack and he said no. Well, I passed the lot yesterday and the '03 is still sitting out there, hasn't moved. I swing in and talk to a different guy. Offer him $500 for the rack. He has to talk to the owner. SCORE. Its was on my truck this afternoon!
