Seriously stumped

Ok, I bought a couple disco 2's a few weeks ago. Neither of them are perfect. The 2000 needs head gaskets, which is no big deal. However the 01 is being a real pita. I will keep to the basics for the sake of time. The guy I got them from said the M&s lights are on because of an xyz switch and that it should run when replaced(seemed odd that the trans wouldn't let it start, but I said ok and went home with it) he gave me a switch he said was good, and I replaced it. I realigned using the neutral and neutral positions then cranked down the bolt. Then the battery was junk, replaced with new, trickle charged to full. Good battery.
It will crank for days, no spark, no fuel. So I look it up. Decided crank sensor was next. Just happened to find one in the glove box... Suspicious. So I crawl underneath and find another one put in, with shims first. So I put the glove box one in, same thing
So I put the one that was in back in correctly, same thing.
So I buy a new one, seeing as all the rover forums put the no spark no fuel into the cps category I figure there has to be some truth to it. Plus $60 is worth a shot.
New one in, same thing.
I figure it to be odd that the coils and fuel pump go out at the same time, so I jump the fuel pump relay, I can hear the pump running, but only when I jump the relay.(still no fuel pressure, yes it has gas) So I think the wires on the back of the motor for the cps have been rubbed through, good continuity all the way to the ecu plug.
So I start with security stuff... Key fob works fine, unlocks locks..... Tried the generic 1515 eka or whatever code, never acts like it letting me put it in.
Inertia switch is good, even jumped it to make sure.
I'm at a loss
The coils could be bad, however I'll chase that when I get the key to turn the fuel pump on to make sure it's not related.
Service engine light does not come on
Scanned for codes, none beside the airbag system that's been gone a long time.
2001, disco 2 102k miles
Thanks in advance for any insight
Now thinking next either ecu is bad, or they may have put in a new ecu that isn't compatible? But then would it crank?

So,will a BCU with a failed alarm start disable relay. You have to ground a wire at the BCU. I chased that one for a month. I can't remember which one but it's clear in the wiring diagram. Cuts power to the fuel pump relay.

So I have good fuses in both boxes. Pulled them all twice. Also I was swapping relays from the 2000 that does run to see if it was a bad relay, no luck. I did however notice that even when I jump the fuel pump relay to make the pump run, I am not getting any fuel out of the Schroeder valve.
Odometer is not blinking. Steady numbers
After a start attempt, the dash lights that are on are
Oil lamp
Battery lamp
Srs lamp
Temperature light (round led on the top of the temp gauge)
Flashing M&S
And a steady rover pointing downhill with an exclamation mark

Ok so it sounds like I will try grounding said bcu wire first. And worst case on the ecu is a different/wrong one was put in. I say that because if I order one that matches this one, how do I know I'm not ordering another incorrect one... Is there a way to look up what it would have came with oem? Kyle, if I look at the bcu wiring, are you saying ground the wire that feeds the pump relay?

Holy fuck, my first post says "no spark, no fuel"
Which like I said I find it odd that the fuel pump and ignition would go at the same time.
Valve has 0 fuel. Not only no pressure, but no fuel. If I jump the relay the pump will run. But still no pressure or even fuel to the rail. I can fix the pump if it does in fact have a problem.
However, the ecu is not giving it any power via the key. Nor the ignition.
P.s. This was all in the first post mr agro

over there
Alarm active

Or

In cab fuse/relay panel

Or

Main engine relay (in the engine compartment fuse/relay panel has a dry socket in the circuit board.

K, swapped idm... No change.
Kyle, still looking for a little info on which wire to ground on the bcm
75, alarm stuff all seems pretty good, key fob operates doors, if there is more to it than that I'm all ears.
Gonna go look at the fuse/relay panel under the hood
