I'm gonna try it regardless, and I listen to pt because he doesn't seem like a douche.
I came to this forum because it seemed like it was full of people with answers... So far, he's been about the only one who has repeatedly responded and has a decent idea of what's going on. Half of my posts have been repeating things I already said because you all assume I don't know what I'm talking about.
If I gave a shit enough to prove you wrong I could, but I don't.
So yes stew, I continue to listen to the people who actually offer help, and ignore the douche bags(you)
Ever since the first MGb I rebuilt, I have been fully aware of the headaches of Lucas electrical systems. And electrical is not my strongest skill set. Hence the reach out.
Ps, assuming I am an idiot, I still know my fuel pump primes when the key turns to position 2. What's that say about you.

Now, if anyone has anything useful to contribute, I would appreciate it

Well I think your gonna have to dig really deep in that truck to find any Lucas electronics . The fact that the fuel pump primes or not is something we have to really wonder about . I don't believe you, because your not a good source of info . If you knew anything about this board you would know that if I was wrong about the fuel pump prime or not prime thing,it would have been jammed down my throat by now .

I think the fusebox in my D2 says Lucas on it....

Also, The ECU and BCU in the D2 talk to each other and they need to have a matching security code. You can put the ECU in learning mode so it will accept the code form the BCU but if you just swap the ECU it will not work.

This.

Also, given the correct circumstances, I can be THE douche!

I agree with almost everything in that box up there . But isn't Lucas electrics gone from the Disco 2? I think Siemens was there new friend after BMW came in . They fired the people who did all the leather since the beginning over that little back seats growing hair thing . The bottle jacks leaked oil and that company got dropped . I'm pretty sure they didn't invite Lucas to the Disco 2 build .
