SES Flashed, then DII died

Driving to work this morning, my DII's service engine soon light blinked on once, car felt it hesitated for a microsecond, and continued my journey. On the way home, it did the same thing, and a minute later, she stalled, and can't get her to start. She cranks until she's blue in the face but doesn't fire up. No codes being pulled, everything looks intact. From what I've read, it could be:

1. Crank position sensor
2. Fuel pump
3. Fuel Pump fuse

Stuck on the street at the moment waiting for a tow, but am I on the right track? Maybe the fact that the SES light blinked, truck hesitated quickly, kept going and died a bit later might give some of the experts on here something to work with.
I did notice she took a few more seconds than normal to start this morning.

BTW, just had the head gaskets replaced. 110,000 miles on this '01 Disco II.
thanks, in advance.

I'd check the fuel system first...power to the pump, pump working, system pressure

BTW, it may have been the TC light, all I know is that it was orange, and it was off by the time I shifted my eyes to see it.

Adding to the mystery...I reset the inertia switch, and it clicked solidly, as if it were indeed in need of a reset. Now, I went to start it, but the battery seems dead. Interior lights stay on, radio works, but blinkers cause the lights to dim. What could be causing the rapid drain on the battery? I was able to crank it a few times around 6:20, about 3 hours ago. Now, it doesn't even turn over. HELP!!!!

thanks, in advance.

none of your fucking business
When you press that inertia button, it takes 30 some odd seconds to reactivate.

can you hear your fuel pump buzzin?

Have you recently broken anything, or has anything happened that might screw up something else? THINK REALLY HARD.....

Thanks for the input, folks...
Well, I was able to get a jump last night. Started up fine, ran for 30 minutes, no problems. Started again this morning, as if nothing ever happened. Looks like it is an over-sensitive inertia switch. Ordered a replacement from Atlantic British this morning, hopefully, problem solved. Just got worried because I just spent 1800 on head gaskets and everything that job entails. Not to mention 250 on a rental for the week. UUGGGHH!!!

You are missing at least one of these things.

1)Air
2)Fuel
3)Spark
4)Timing
5)Compression.

All 5 are very testable.

no codes at all...the inertia switch appears to be faulty, as it appeared to trip after going over rough tracks.

Sorry for the delay on getting a resolution up here.

The fix was the crank position sensor. Had to go to the dealership in Tinley Park. Napa didn't carry it, oddly enough, and they couldn't get it, they stated.

Installed, runs fine.

thanks to everyone who gave insight/input.

I think I may have the same problem. I had a p0336 code. SES light flashed car jerked hard and then SES went off car was Fine. It starts some times and doesn't at others. I pulled the CPS and cleaned it good. It runs more often now. I have a new one on the way to me. I hope this fixes it. And then on to the Three Amigo's and my right horn button.

Thanks for your response.
We will try CPS. Our DII is dead in the garage. (Battery fine). Garage is a nice safe place to not start anyway.

I have the SES that just turned on on my '03 Disco. Do you guys know if these have error code displays, like my '94 Disco did?
