uhhhhhhhhh.... SES light came on today.

Codes:
P1300: manufacturer conrtolled ignition system or misfire
P0301: cylinder 1 misfire*
P0306: cylinder 6 misfire*
P0305: cylinder 5 misfire*
P0300: random/multiple misfire

*noted as a repeating code

I haven't noticed anything unusally lately although I think I felt the misfire a while before the light came on. I was slowing up to a stoplight and then the car lurched forward as if something had hit me from behind. I do know that I have a nasty exhaust leak but other than that every has been fine.

I believe it has realtively new plugs, not sure about wires. MAF was replaced maybe 3 months ago.

Any advice.

coil packs, maybe, but it's across both coil packs so maybe not...is it getting fuel?

Good question. I will look into that once my frustration passes.

Would a bad fuel pump cause misfires?

Ok it randomly started working again this morning. Not sure what brand the spark plugs are but I find it highly unlikely for there to be 4 dead spark plugs.

Right now the car runs ok but it smells like sulfer so I am not going to drive it.

I have 90k

My question is how likely is it that the plugs and wires are causing 3-4 misfires?

Fire it up at night if you can open the hood and using a spray bottle with water, hit it with a light mist and see if you see any arc.

Ok did the water test, showed nothing.

Spark plugs look ok but old so I am going to replace them as my first plan of attack.

I also noticed since the last time I filled up (and I am getting close to low) I've only gone 220 miles which is pretty low.

Autolite, its all my local place had. I'm probably going to order something better but I need something to get me by in the mean time. It's only $20. What is the reccomended brand around here?

Also, I took my car to the gas station and filled her up. She's running much much better now. I don't know if thats a coincidence but maybe the gas I had wasn't great?
