Severe steering shake during braking

Just changed pads/rotors a week ago. . (thanks to other post on this forum). No real challenge, all went well. Then a Few days after, Steering wheel began shaking left and right rapidly only when braking. More violently at 60-70 mph. Almost imperceptible under 30 mph. Seems worse after heated. Did not happen prior to new rotors/pads.
I believe I improperly bedded pads. Would uneven pad deposits create such a bad steering shake? Pulled all new components back off to inspect. Everything seems in proper form. Should I get these brand new rotors turned to remove possible pad deposits?

Any other suggestions? Again. There was no issue prior to one week ago when I installed new pads/ rotors.

Thanks.

The shaking you are describing, getting worse at high speeds is because the rotors are warped, you can get them turned or machined but since you said you got them new I would recommend getting them swapped out on warranty.

front or rear? if you "just" bought them i would return them for sure...just to be safe chk for wheel bearing play too

When you removed your old rotors, did you thoroughly clean the hubs? Often dirt or corrosian will build up and fall onto the mounting surface, causing the new rotor to not sit flush. It only takes a few thousands of contamination to give the rotors excessive runout.

All great replies. Thx. To answer. Yes hubs were cleaned well.
The culprit was the front rotor(obviously due to steering shake). Removed them and had them turned. ($28 for both) The brake tech told me one was fine and he only took off one "pass" of material, but the other needed 3 "passes" to true it. I decided to do this instead of returning them to British Atlantic which would have taken too long.

The brake tech also said it's a good idea to turn all new rotors (good upsell)

Anyway, Agee a bit of burn in time they are perfect.

Next challenge is the compressor fault!

The compressor faults every time I drive. Sometimes after a minute sometimes five. Once it faults ther is no changing suspension height. Shut the truck off and back on and I can raise and lower until I start driving.
Ive read about some fixing by replacing a $70 filter. Apparently it's overheating. It's just annoying. I'll take any input or ideas. Thanks. This should be a new thread.
