Has anyone put sheepskin seat covers on their D2?

or... has anyone actually seen them in person?

It is hard to tell from web photos if they look nice or if they look totally tacky.

Thanks in advance. :)

not on a d2 but my dads navigator and they look so tacky. They are nice and warm after a min or two but make the heated seats completely useless.

just my 2 cents though

Jamie-

I have had them on my D1 for about 10 years now, the drivers side is starting to look a little worn, but the pasengers side looks good as new.

That said, they don't take to mud splatters too well, or spilled chees from a pasenger eating nachos while riding. The mud will wash out, the cheese takes a bit more work.

I like them as they just feel good.:D I suppose they also keep the sun off the leather.

If the drivers side starts to look really ratty, I will look for a replacement.

Sheepskin covers remind me of that pimp mobile in the Dirty Harry movie with the crooked motorcycle cops...I bet they are comfortable, and for on-road only driving in a northern area with a heavily window tinted truck - I might be tempted...

I would say--who cares what other people will think of them. What matters is if you like them. If I had leather seats and no heated seat options, I'd consider them for the winter time. It can get to minus 30 to minus 40F here in the winter, and frozen leather doesn't ever warm up very well once your legs are frozen....

"Regular" seat covers are either cheap and rip apart, or the straps break right away, or they are expensive in order to get good quality. I have expensive covers (from Cabala's possibly, can't remember) from a D1 used to own and I took them off because they were starting to fade.

I've thought about getting them before, but always thought they were a little pricey. That said, I've heard they're really damn comfortable.
