did not want the drop down, so I swapped around the hinges after putting the soft top on. It was pretty beat up, but it will keep stuff from falling out of the truck.:D

Hey Chuckie-poo, what color did you end up painting your rims? Our trucks are practically twins but I am torn choosing a color.

they are Rustoleum Almond. Pics of your truck?:D

I still have your knobs, ended up replacing the whole assembly on both so I can ship 'em back to you if you desire.

I really like that. I did the same thing but my cheap arsh used a SW door that I already had and cut it down. Not nearly as "clean" as yours and because I cut the bottom of the door off due to rust issues, it isnt quite square now either. Nice job. Gordo

Chuck, did you spray your entire truck with Rustoleum Almond or did you find a roll on paint equal?

I have plans to do my roof, side panels, wheels, and headlight bezels in almond and the rest of the body in red...

I've found the two colors I like, Rustoleum Almond, and then a red that looked as close to poppy as I could find...but, Im concerned if it will look ok after Im done spraying it...

I've seen roll jobs go ok and look good. I just need it to look decent in pictures for one day. Then it can go back to looking like shit.

Check out the can of Rustoleum sitting on his truck in the one shot. I also spray canned mine in Rustoleum Almond and am pretty happy with it.

I bought the oil based roll on and the spray, just ended up using the spray on everything. It would have looked better if I had dissembled the parts to do them individually, but I am cheap and not so concerned that it looks like a pro did it. I do not know of a spray equivalent of the poppy red. I did the body, roof sides and wheels in the almond, the roof top in white. My guess is that rolling might have looked more even and been tougher as an oil base, but that is just guessing.

I bought Rustoleum Almond and Rustoleum Sunrise Red...

The Sunrise Red looks fairly close to a Poppy to me but just a bit brighter. I don't really expect it to turn out perfect. Im thinking the Almond will be too off for the roof. I really would like to keep it simple with doing the wheels, sides, headlight bezels, and roof almond and doing the rest of the body with the Sunrise Red. I am right in the middle of teardown to paint seperately because Im feeling pretty anal.

I have to have it all back together and running good by Nov. 5th...Considering the ease of deconstruction, I think Ill be ok.

LOL-I just did the same for a client!

Cut it off, capped it with a piece of flat stock and pop-riveted a piece of galvanized across the back. It turned out REALLY well.

Fortunately, I had three doors to work with and had a pair of Defender hinges as well.
