Replace the iconic Defender?

WTF? Replace an icon?

At least they have finally and publicly admitted (more like let slip) that the next vehicle is a replacement and not a "refined upgrade". And ya gotta love the bullshit corporate speak they have used in every press release, "...meeting the requirements of a changing global market". In other words ' we don't a have a clue what to do next... rather than create a strongly defined, unique vehicle with truly simple capability, reliability and balls we'll just try to make everyone happy through compliance and stylings.'

"Loved the world over for its simple, honest and distinctive design, we are determined that the new Defender will be true to its heritage"

Yeah, right.

Push-button spiked tires sound pretty cool...

I mean, they will never be made, and if they were they wouldn't work, but it's still cool. The paint's a neat idea. I can see that one making it to production as a novelty option. That stuff better work, though, because a re-spray on a single panel would probably total a three year old vehicle.

How do you total a DII? Crack a tail light.

How do you total a Freelander? Drive it.

How do you total a DC100? Scrape a panel.

How do you total a new Range Rover? Look at it.

How do you total a DI? You already did.

"The entire Land Rover team is excited about the opportunity, and the responsibility, of creating the replacement for the iconic Land Rover Defender. The entire Land Rover team is also excited about smoking crack, snorting heroin and sniffing paint before designing any new Land Rovers".

"hey guys my sonar sensor is shot from that last water crossing, so it disabled my 4wd now im stuck in 2wd"

That's not a sonar sensor, it's a wade-aid (or a terrain-i, take your pick). Looks like a freelander that was steroided up, quit working out, and went to pot.

I noticed that none of the "photos" were off-road, other than on some firm sand.
I wonder if they will be doing any ads for it like this?

I will have to put my defender. In storage as it will be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars when this pile of shit hits the show rooms. Send land roveran email telling them how shitty it is. Over throw it using social media surely if it helps over throw governments it can help design a truck.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Adventure key is a waterproof, lightweight alternative to the control fob.

Considering their target demographic this really should come with an iPhone app to help you find your lost keys (assuming your phone is not locked in the car) and a dealer emergency call function for when all these electronics fail.

No it should come with a push button for a call center, so you can become even more confused, because you can not understand a damn thing they are saying! Kudos Rover Mac!

Those days are long gone. They are trying to compete with other SUV's to make money, they do not give a shit about if it will be used off road. It is all about money and how the Mr. and Mrs. Jones will look in their rugged vehicle that would get stuck on grass.
