hey all

after some heavy mud and water crossings this month my D2 just started having a problem starting. i'm guessing it is the starter. i turn the key, it makes a click noise, the lights on dash come on but no fire. if i do this a few times eventually it seems to find its way and start up. could be three tries could be twenty.

here is my question. after i turn the key, hear a click and see the dash lights come on with no fire, the dash lights then turn off except for a couple of the red ones and the green M and S lights which blink on and off. do the blinking green Mode and Sport lights mean anything in particular? just wondering if that is identifying the problem somehow. i'd hate to buy a new starter and find out its something else. thanks if you have any advice.

The M/S lights are probably due to water ingress to the harness beneath the truck.

The starting issue could be the starter, electrical connections, alternator, battery, etc. Might be completely coincidental to the drowning.

Check battery voltage, check for power to the starter when trying to crank. When you do get it running, check voltage.
