I have a pickle fork and am beating the crap out of it and it won't slide down shaft from the steering box. I sprayed it with WD40 and still win't budge. Am I doing something wrong? The shop manual just says remove drop arm to overhaul ball joint. It looks straight forward. Is it just rusted on?

I'm using a 1 1/8" pittman arm Snap On wedge. Is this the same thing? Slide it in above the arm and hammer it in till the wedge forces the arm down. Is the puller a differant tool?

PT,
I destroyed the puller I just got. The ears exploded as I tightened it down. Cheap puller. I will see if the seal is shot. I think it is OK for now. Thanks for the offer.

Holy crap John that is a thing of beuty. $94 would kill my budget right now though. Wish I had found the right page in the workshop manual before I started beating the crap out of the thing. I will start fresh in the morning and see if I can find a better puller than the one I desroyed today. BTW John I just had a custom billet fairlead made for my Fairey PTO winch. Just need rope now.
