I'll be happy with Obama as long as he doesn't take away my guns, allow PB abortions, allow gay marriage etc etc etc... blah blah blah

fancy that.

as for IRAs, I'll be keeping up with Obamas plans concerning them. I opened a roth about 6 months ago, I'll be a monkeys uncle if he is going to come along and touch it.

That's all fine and dandy if you qualify. Each day I'm finding more and more ways I'm to be screwed. Perhaps I should move "offshore".

I have no $ in a 401k. I handle all my own finances. I take out of my paycheck what I need for the week, then with the remaining, I put 75% into a savings account, and the other 25% into high risk stocks. sometimes I win, sometimes I lose.

Buyers remorse . . .

Take Back Barack
It's time to reclaim the man we put in the White House
The Portland Phoenix

. . . We knew Change wouldn't come overnight, that it would take time, but we were excited that we had elected a man who was open to Change, who said he wanted to consider real people's needs while in the Oval Office. We eagerly awaited the first hints of Change, as the president-elect's transition developed.

And now, we have reason to worry that Change is not coming to America after all. . .

No, really?

Rick Warren — The reason they’re so surprised is?
RBO

Rick Warren is the anti-gay, anti-choice, pro-assassination pastor PEBO has chosen to give the inaugural invocation. . . .

Warren also advocates a number of deeply anti-progressive views. He supported California’s anti-gay marriage Proposition 8 and has likened gay marriage to polygamy and incest. He is strongly anti-choice, and has equated abortion to the Holocaust. Warren also supports the assassination of foreign leaders. Appearing on Fox’s Hannity and Colmes on December 3, Warren agreed with Sean Hannity’s assertion that “we need to take him [Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad] out,” saying that stopping evil “is the legitimate role of government.” He added, “The Bible says that God puts government on earth to punish evildoers.” . . .

edit add: Conservatives were pissed at the LSM because they didn't vet Obama like they hounded Palin. It's a two edged sword. That same lack of vetting is now whacking the Left upside the head.

Only 17% of 8th Graders in Schools Overseen by Obama Education Secretary-Designee Can Read at Grade Level

In 2007, only 17 percent of eighth graders tested at or above grade level in reading in Chicago Public Schools – the school system administered by Arne Duncan since 2001.

President-elect Barack Obama on Tuesday tapped Duncan to become secretary of education in the upcoming administration.

Duncan, hailed by Obama as a reformer, said he would like to take the lessons he learned in Chicago with him when he moves to Washington. “I'm also eager to apply some of the lessons we have learned here in Chicago to help school districts all across our country," Duncan said after Obama formally named him to the job in Chicago.
