His pre-election spending proposals were north of $1T.

Economy won't stop Obama's priorities, aides say
Reuters/Yahoo ^ | 11-9-08 | Andy Sullivan

The economic crisis will not stop President-elect Barack Obama from expanding health care, overhauling education and energy policy, and passing a middle-class tax cut soon after he takes office in January, senior aides said on Sunday. . .

The conservative strategy is coming into focus. It is most likely post-bankruptcy.

You remind me of all the whiney liberals who complained every single day during Bush's presidency, you're now "that guy".

I'll agree that it's better to take a constructive approach in tackling a problem......

So, a majority of my country's citizenry has had the wool pulled over its eyes. How do I constructively fix this? :D

Dan, lets wait and see if it actually happens.

Leslie, no wool has been pulled yet. If it happens, then worry about it.

There is no "if" to it. They should not even be talking about it.

wool...more like a curtain

let's see how the populous see the "change" when the economy doesn't improve and backpedalling is common place (already happening)...

Barack Obama’s senior advisers have drawn up plans to lower expectations for his presidency if he wins next week’s election, amid concerns that many of his euphoric supporters are harbouring unrealistic hopes of what he can achieve.

The sudden financial crisis and the prospect of a deep and painful recession have increased the urgency inside the Obama team to bring people down to earth, after a campaign in which his soaring rhetoric and promises of “hope” and “change” are now confronted with the reality of a stricken economy.

One senior adviser told The Times that the first few weeks of the transition, immediately after the election, were critical,“so there’s not a vast mood swing from exhilaration and euphoria to despair”.

The aide said that Mr Obama himself was the first to realise that expectations risked being inflated.

I think speaking out about it is the constructive manner that was constructed into the Constitution when the nation was constructed, but I could be construing too much from the 1st Amendment, maybe it's just me.

I think it is interesting that all the Libs complained about Bush's use of Executive Orders in this way, now the first action we hear Obama is going to take is... What do you know? Could it be? Executive Orders!

I have no $ in a 401k. I handle all my own finances. I take out of my paycheck what I need for the week, then with the remaining, I put 75% into a savings account, and the other 25% into high risk stocks. sometimes I win, sometimes I lose.
